Sweet Buckwheat Flour (1 kg)

Sweet Buckwheat is abundantly found in Bumthang and Haa Dzongkhags, cultivated frequently on mountain slopes, particularly in the Eastern Bhutan region. The flour is produced from dried, ground buckwheat grains that bear a bright pink flower when in bloom.

It contains many heart-healthy compounds, particularly rutin, which has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Uses: The flour is used to make to make pancakes (locally known as khuley), noodles (puta) which are specialities of Bumthang and dumplings (hoentay) that are a speciality of Haa.
